My wife and I recently took a trip from Dallas to New York City. Long road trips can either be a big old pain, or they can be a therapeutic “break” for the mind. That’s what it was for us and we were pretty grateful for it. We decided to stretch the trip over three days. About 30 minutes into the trip I had an idea. I would hold my camera in my lap and take pictures of the passing landscape and then post them in one long line, back to back, so that friends and family could see what our trip looked like.

The result was cooler than I thought it would be. As you scroll down the line of images, you get the feeling of traveling. The images are pretty much unedited and I didn’t delete very many. So a lot of the images are of just the sky… that is when I missed the target since I didn’t want to hold the camera up to my face while traveling at 80 mph. It was a pleasant surprise how some of these images ended up interacting with each other as well. If you do look at them, play some mellow folk music in the background. I think it brings a little something more to the experience since that was mainly the type of music we listened to on the trip.

  1. Very nice idea, your trip looks great. As a Canadian, we enjoy, vicariously, with some envy, the travels people take in warmer latitudes in the middle of winter. It was almost like being there.
